The University of Dubai (UD) has reported a 20 percent increase in online registration compared to last year, proving a strong confidence and expectation from prospective students.

The university launched its online registration last year and the response from incoming students who registered online for admission to the university has been overwhelming. To date, UD received 130 online registrations for the Fall Semester of the academic year 2011/2012.

Dr Omar Hefni, UD President, said: “We are pleased to announce that we are getting strong response for our online registration from prospective students who have expressed their intention to be admitted to UD. The online registration is a helpful tool for students so they can access information about UD, our programmes, facilities and faculty and they can learn more about how to apply for admission to the university. The growing number of registrations proves that these students believe that their expectations for their higher education would be met by enrolling at UD!”

Admission to Fall Semester will be limited to 200 students only to maintain the institution’s high quality education standards. UD admits outstanding students of every nationality and background. The degree programs offered are accredited by two distinguished international accreditations such as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

UD’s College of Business Administration is one among the five percent of business schools worldwide accredited by AACSB and no other private university in UAE managed to earn such accreditation prior to UD. The same applies to its Computing and Information Systems program which has earned the accreditation by CAC/ABET for each of its concentration making it the only university in the Middle East to earn such accreditation.

Dr. Hefni added that online registration is provided to students who cannot travel immediately to the campus to register. Registration is open at UD’s campus located in Al Masaood Building in Deira. Fall Semester will start on September 10, 2011.
