Visa launches first ever nationwide debit campaign in Egypt

For the first time ever, Visa Inc. will launch a nationwide debit campaign in Egypt to award twelve lucky Visa Debit and Visa Electron cardholders a total of EGP 150,000. The campaign, which runs from April 1 – June 30, 2011, will automatically enter all Visa Debit and Visa Electron transactions into a draw for a chance to win. Cardholders can automatically double their chances to win by using their Visa payment cards at Spinneys. Of the twelve prizes, four winners will be drawn every month to win EGP 12,500 each for the duration of the three month campaign.
“At Visa, we believe that one of the best ways to showcase the convenience, security and reliability of a Visa Debit or Visa Electron card is to provide cardholders with innovative incentives to use their cards for everyday purchases at a wide variety of merchants throughout Egypt,” said Tarek Elhousseiny, General Manager for Visa North and West Africa. “As more and more cardholders discover the benefits of payment cards, Visa looks forward to continue working with our partners to develop debit card options and the acceptance infrastructure in order to meet the growingly sophisticated banking needs of Egyptians.”
"As one of the premier leading retailers in the middle east, we continue to expand our operations across Egypt. We are delighted to be partnering with Visa the leading electronic payments provider with a bid to reward customers for their loyalty to Spinneys and to offer them benefits for embarking on digital currency solutions, “ said Mr. Shady Abou Saad, Spinneys Egypt General Manager.
The monthly draw is scheduled for the 15th of each month for transactions made during the preceding month. Winners will be notified the last week of each draw month. For more information, including the terms and conditions please visit: www.visamiddleeast.com/debit.
