Eyewitnesses said gunmen attacked two offices of the Yemeni Intelligence Agency in the Abyan province in southern Yemen on Wednesday. Reports indicated the occurrence of violent clashes between the security forces and the attackers.
Yemeni security sources said that al Qaeda was behind the coordinated attacks.
Eyeitnesses said they saw at least five bodies in the street near the scene of one of the attacks in southern Yemen. There were no official statements on the casualties.
