Winners of MasterCard Football Penalty Challenge in Jeddah crowned

MasterCard Worldwide crowned the winning team of the MasterCard Football Penalty Challenge, which took place in Jeddah on May 19, 2011 at the Red Sea Mall. The football pitch for the Final was packed with VIP guests, football fans and MasterCard executives in attendance. In addition to the Grand Prize of SR 100,000, the runners were awarded SR 20,000. Participants for the Jeddah Final were selected from thousands of entries received for the MasterCard Football Penalty Challenge, which is taking place in two phases in Jeddah and Riyadh.

A total of 160 football enthusiasts participated in the Jeddah final, who were divided into teams consisting of 5 players each. Participants were randomly selected by a computer from those who signed up for the challenge. The winning team’s five members included: Bahjat H. Dabbour, Abdulaziz Rosy, Abdullah Saleh, Yassin Adam Akeel, and Bahaa Fadel Mahmoud who showcased their football skills and shot strong shots that brought enthusiasm to spectators with their exciting football skills.

A member of the winning team, Bahjat Dabbour said; “It is absolutely fantastic to have participated in the MasterCard Football Penalty Challenge. In the beginning, we participated in the challenge just for fun, but found it to be a great and rewarding challenge. We would like to express our appreciation to MasterCard Worldwide for giving us – keen enthusiast football players – the chance to participate in this challenge.”

The Riyadh final of the MasterCard Football Penalty Challenge will take place on May 26, 2011 at the Granada Mall with the presence of senior MasterCard executives, VIP dignitaries and fans.
