World Bank to offer 'technical and advisory support' to Yemen
Yemen and the World Bank (WB) discussed sides of technical and advisory support in the areas of capacity building at the local and central levels.
This came at a meeting gathered Deputy Minister of Local Administration Abdul Raqib Saif with the WB Urban Development Specialist Bala Menon who reviewed possibility of establishing an integrated information system that links the ministry with the administrative units.
The deputy minister stressed that the support should include the long-term investment aspects in areas of health, education and women integration in development process as well as building houses for poor people in the administrative units.
The WB support should be continued even after holding the national dialogue, he said, asserting there is need to start setting up programs and procedures to carry out the support offered in the overall fields.
In return, the WB official noted that the support has to cover the current stage as well as the coming one, asserting the ministry should be ready with programs and well-studied plans to cope with the possibilities that may emerge out of dialogue.
