Akon to give Oman's hip-hop fans a night to remember
After the success of Shah Rukh Khan’s Temptations Reloaded show, Light and Shadow bring the sensational hip-hop star, Akon, for a show on April 11 at the Oman Automobile Club.
“It is going to be all-standing for fans with three zones,” Akshay Chowdhary of Light And Shadow told Gulf News. He added that people with 125 Omani riyal tickets (Dh1,188.92) will get the ‘fan pit’ area and soft drinks as well as finger snacks on the house. The other zones are priced at 40 and 20 riyals respectively.
“This show by the holder of a Guinness world record holder will appeal to a cross-section of people in Oman,” Chowdhary said.
He added that the show by the Senegalese American R&B and hip-hop star would be an evening of live entertainment for the new generation, live in concert from the streets of America into the hearts of Oman.
“We at Light and Shadow try to envisage bring dream artist such as Shah Rukh Kahn and now Akon to Oman, thus giving Oman world-class entertainment,” said . Rajeev Chowdhary, managing director of Light and Shadow.
Looking at the popularity of Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam aka Akon, the organisers are expecting around 20,000 fans from different sections of society here in Muscat.
“We expect his fans from the other GCC countries to travel to Muscat for the show as this is the only performance he is giving during his visit to the Middle East,” claimed Chowdhary.
The tickets for the event go on sale next week.
