ALBAWABA - Twelve passengers sustained injuries on a Qatar Airways Boeing 787, after flight QR017 experienced severe turbulence while flying over Turkey, before the aircraft eventually made its scheduled arrival in Dublin.

Landing passengers described their fear upon landing, describing the extent and the severity of the turbulence, with one man saying “just food all over the plane, on the ceiling, everywhere,” and another lady explaining how she saw the “poor” flight attendant going into their, suffering injuries, as reported by RTÉ News.

Emergency personnel, including airport authorities, ambulance, and firemen, welcomed the Qatar Airways aircraft QR017 upon arrival just before 13:00 local time, according to a statement by Dublin Airport, with eight of the twelve reported injuries, six passengers and six crew members, being admitted to the hospital for treatment.

The incident is being looked into internally by Qatar Airways, according to a statement the airline released, with those hurt aboard the Boeing 787 getting medical care. The airline noted that “the safety and security of our passengers and crew are our top priority.”

The National Ambulance Service of Ireland stated that it was on scene facilitating and supporting the departure of passengers after receiving a pre-alert to respond to the airport, as reported by BBC, with a spokesperson from Dublin Airport Authority saying that “the Dublin Airport team continues to provide full assistance on the ground to passengers and airline staff.”
