Dubai 2003 has ensured the supply of 800,000 liters of water and cold beverages and tons of food for the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The meetings will take place next month at the Dubai International Convention Centre (DICC).

Dubai 2003 partner, Masafi, will supply over 650,000 liters of water and close to 100,000 liters of juices, apart from 750 kilograms of chocolate and 20,000 kilograms of ice. Even then not to fall short, the catering arm of Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) has ordered another 25,000 liters of beverages.

Dubai 2003 has entrusted the task of handling on-site catering at the DICC to the hospitality arm of DWTC. “As many as 400 employees of the Dubai World Trade Center’s catering arm will be working 4,000 man hours every day to serve up the gastronomic fare for the forthcoming Annual Meetings from 18th to 25th September,” said DWTC General Manager Hospitality Ahmed Bin Hareb.

The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund were first held in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Dubai were selected because of their highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure and its growing importance as a financial hub. — (menareport.com)
