Mercator, the Dubai-based information technology division of the Emirates Group, has further strengthened its presence in the African market following Air Malawi's selection of Fastrac, the new revenue accounting solution.

The airline is the first in Africa to opt for Fastrac, with implementation of the system scheduled to begin in January. African carriers already using other Mercator systems include Air Algérie, Air Zimbabwe, Kenya Airways and Royal Air Maroc.

Specifically designed to fulfill the needs of small and medium sized operators, Fastrac is available as a stand-alone passenger or cargo revenue accounting solution, or as an integrated system offering full functionality.

The Fastrac implementation at Air Malawi will yield significant business benefits for the airline, supporting their ambitious growth plans. The airline has been operating scheduled passenger and cargo services for over 35 years, with its route network spanning destinations throughout central and southern Africa. — (menareport.com)
