Al-Hassan Industrial exports drop in October

Exports from Al Hassan Industrial Estate dropped by 14 percent in October 2001 compared to the previous month of September. However, since the outset of this current year, the Al-Hassan exports registering a 64 percent increase. The Irbid Chamber Chairman Maher Nasser, commenting on the figures, attributed the fall mostly to seasonal factors. 

 

A recent report published by Irbid Chamber of Industry showed that last month's exports from the Qualifying Industrial Zone (QIZ) amounted to $19.7 million compared to $ 22.9 million in September 2001.  

 

The Irbid chamber manages the zone, which is the biggest among four industrial estates, aimed at boosting joint ventures with Israel in line with the peace treaty signed between these two states seven years ago.  

 

Meanwhile, a Turkish business delegation, led by the Turkish Ambassador to Amman Arkan Ozur has recently visited the Al-Hassan Industrial Estate. The visit was directed to explore opportunities for Turkish investments in the Estate. The overall investments in Al-Hassan Estate, estimated at $190 million, have helped to create 16,000 jobs, according to official figures. — (menareport.com)
