A total of 155,581 foreign tourists visited Algeria in the first two quarters of 2004. This figure represented a 14.52 percent rise compared to the same period last year, according to statistics released by the Algerian Tourism Ministry.
452,660 tourists have visited Algeria during the first semester of 2004, say an increase of 6.93 % compared with 2003.
Regarding the Algerian community abroad, a total of 296,809 Algerians have visited their homeland during the first semester of 2004 compared to 287,244 during the same semester of the previous year, an increase of 3.33%. (menareport.com)
