Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines Visits China

Algerian minister of Energy and Mines, Shakib Khalil, announced October 16 an official visit to China to hold conversations with high ranked Chinese oil officials aiming to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in the oil and gas fields, reported the Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA

 

The minister will meet with the head of the development and reform committee, who is responsible for oil, energy and mines sectors and with representatives of the main Chinese companies operate in the sectors of oil, gas, electricity and petrochemicals. 

 

The minister is accompanied by delegation including the head of the Algerian oil company Sonatrach, the general director of the electricity national company and high officials from the ministry. It should be mentioned that the relations between Algeria and the Chinese oil companies improved during the recent years, and that a cooperation agreement between the two countries was signed last February during the visit of the Chinese president to China.
