ALBAWABA - Alice Walton, the American heiress to the Walmart fortune and the daughter of founder Sam Walton, is the richest woman in the world for 2025, with a net worth of approximately $102 billion.

According to Forbes' annual list of the world's richest people, Alice Walton is the now the richest woman in the world for 2025 with a net worth of about $102 billion. Notably, Walton is the daughter of Salm Walton, the American business magnate best known for founding the retailers Walmart and Sam's Club.

This year, Alice Walton surpassed Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, the French businesswoman, philanthropist, writer, billionaire heiress, and former holder of the title of the richest woman in the world. Meyers, with an estimated net worth of approximately $71.1 billion, held the title until this year, according to Forbes.

Meyers is the heiress to the L'Oréal cosmetics empire and is now the second richest woman in the world, with a total net worth of about $81.6 billion.

Walton’s fortune saw a boost of nearly $27.7 billion in 2024 after Walmart’s shares surged by about 40%, which resulted in an increase in Walton’s 11% stake in the company. On the other hand, Meyers' fortune declined by approximately $17.9 billion as L'Oréal's shares dropped, along with a 20% overall decrease in total shares.

Most of Walton's wealth comes from Walmart shares, the American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores in the United States and 23 other countries.

Walton is passionate about art. She founded the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, where she both sells and exhibits significant art pieces.
