Australian New Motor Vehicle Sales fell by -7.1% in 12 months through August as high credit costs and soaring fuel costs reduced demand for such a big ticket item. The year through July saw the metric fall by -4.5%. Falling energy prices along with Reserve Bank of Australia’s continued rate easing may offer consumers greater purchasing power, allowing the metric to see favorable readings for the month of September.
