The State of Bahrain succeeded in decreasing its non-oil trade balance deficit by 67 percent over the past five years to 524 million Bahraini Dinars ($1.4 billion) in 2001 from BD 753 million in 1997, reported Al-Watan . The decrease is attributed to the country’s 48 percent drop in imports during the same period. — (menareport.com)
