Bahrain's Batelco and Jordan's MobileCom have established a full Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) interconnection. Multimedia picture messages can now be exchanged between mobile customers of the two independent operators in both countries.
Batelco launched its GSM Mobile Services in Bahrain eight years ago, and in 2003 the number of mobile users reached over 400,000 subscribers, more than 57 percent of the population.
MobileCom is the Jordanian public mobile telephone network operator, and is the operator of the mobile communications license granted to Jordan Telecom. MobileCom is a member of the Jordan Telecom Group that also includes e-Dimensions and Wanadoo. — (menareport.com)
