Bahrain bourse drops nearly 10% during October

The Bahrain All Share Index ended the month of October on a negative note when compared to the previous month, closing at 2220.17. Therefore, decreasing on a MoM basis by 9.85%, market capitalization decreased by 10.15% at the end of the current month to reach approximately BD9.2bn (about US$24bn).

 

Decliners outnumbered the advancers by a margin of 26 to 0 and the prices of 26 companies remained unchanged. Moreover, the value of shares traded increased by 197.17% to reach BD42.9 mn (some US$114 mn). In addition, the volume of shares traded increased by 108.7% to reach 79.4 million shares.

 

Furthermore, the number of transactions increased by 12.61% to reach 3,170 trades. Most of the trading was concentrated in the Services Sector, which witnessed BD23.27mn (some US$62 mn)of trading value, capturing 54.26% of the total value of shares traded on the BSE.
