Malta’s Bank of Valletta (BOV) is set to launch a new online banking service for its customers. To this end, the bank opted for the Altitude's contact center software suite and e-finance products by the company formerly known as Brokat, a software provider acquired by DataDesign AG at the beginning of this year.
Dubai Internet City (DIC) based-Systems integrator BusinessOne, which belongs to the STS Group, has provided a customized integration to link Altitude Software with DataDesign e-finance products. IND Interactive Netdesign (Hungary), Connectica s.a.r.l. (Lebanon) and Vasco (Belgium) will also be closely involved in the project. Altitude Software is also based in DIC.
With its new multi-channel banking system, the bank will deliver services such as the Internet, IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and mobile devices. This high-security solution will enable its retail and corporate customers to access the bank's services via all available delivery channels on an anytime, anywhere basis.
Bank of Valletta is the largest bank in the Mediterranean Republic of Malta. It was founded in 1974, tracing its origins back to the Anglo Maltese Bank set up in 1809. In 1992, Bank of Valletta became the first public company to be listed and have its shares quoted on the Malta Stock Exchange.
It was privatized in 1995 and is currently rated by two international rating agencies, Fitch (A-) and Moody's Investors Service (A3). Bank of Valletta employs 1,600 staff, deployed in a network of retail outlets throughout Malta and its sister island. Apart from Corporate and Retail services, it also offers support services to International Trading Companies, as well as provides Fund Management, Bancassurance, Trade Finance, Private Banking and Stock broking services.
