Winter came quick in Jordan. And while most people started bundling up, and used the cold as an excuse to drink way too much hot cocoa, there were some who simply did not have the means to do so. So this year, as a collective initiative across all Bayt.com offices in the region, Baytheads gave back, extending a warm hug to those less privileged and helping them make it through a chilly few months to come.
The “Keep Them Warm” campaign, was one initiated, planned, and executed by Baytheads. On November 26th, over twenty volunteers from the Bayt.com Amman office embarked on their mission, armed with 1,505 blankets to spread warmth across different areas in the country. The blankets were a result of Baytheads in the entire region taking action, collecting donations, and purchasing the blankets. The result – a rewarding and emotional experience for everyone involved.
The journey began at the Ajloun Youth Community center, where, with the help of Mercy Corps, hundreds of Syrian refugees and disadvantaged Jordanians were queuing, awaiting the distribution. The first stop was a remarkable success, with over 700 blankets distributed by the enthusiastic volunteers. Armed with renewed motivation and initiative, the Baytheads took on the road again, onto the next stop in Irbid, where another 700 blankets were distributed to the people in need. The mission as a whole was a triumph, and Baytheads returned home to Amman, grateful for the blessings they have and their ability to give back.
The initiative served as a reminder to the significance of how far our kindness can truly reach. It was an example of our ability to extend a helping hand, contributing to our community, and with a little motivation, impacting the lives of hundreds of people around us. In true Bayt.com fashion, Baytheads gave back to the community, empowering people, and helping them lead better, and in this case, warmer lives.
