“Magic is something you make.” This adage, adopted this month by, is a promise by to bring magic into people’s lives. And magic takes many forms. It can be a dream; the dream of landing a job, finding true love or even pursuing the education you’ve always wanted.

There are so many companies in the Middle East that believe in investing in the power of education – so much, in fact, that they’ve dedicated funds to sponsor scholarships for students. These companies offer great opportunities for students to get access to endless educational options. Companies that invest in future generations understand that the well-educated workforce of tomorrow depends on accessible education today. is one of those companies.

In fact, everyone in believes in the collective benefit of doing good. One of these initiatives was a scholarship for three engineering students with outstanding grades at the University of Birzeit.

The three students were selected based on their financial needs and academic record, and through the university’s development department. The scholarship will cover their tuition fees in their final year at university and will provide them with training and internship opportunities upon completion of their degree.

In this quick interview with, Rinad Lahlooh, one of the students who were awarded this scholarship answers a few questions about her hopes and dreams and what this scholarship means to her.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your background

I am a 20-year-old student at Birzeit University. This is my third year, and I’m preparing for a major in Computer Systems Engineering. I picked this major because I had fallen in love with computers and games and software applications since I was a child. My high GPA (96.4%) in high school also helped me realize this dream. You might find this strange, but my favorite hobbies also include computers. I have completed every certification possible in my field – from web applications development to mobile applications to programming languages, etc. I believe that these new technologies were created to make our lives easier and more enjoyable. I also have an interest in languages; in fact, I’m good at both Arabic and English.

2. What is your number one career dream?

My dream is to work in my field and be able to develop new techniques and solutions that can benefit people and offer them a better life.

3. How has the scholarship helped you?

The scholarship gave me a lot to be thankful for. The scholarship was the lifesaver of my education and ability to realize my dreams. It gave me more incentive to study and be creative, and do that without thinking about the financial impediment standing in front of my ambitions. With the help of the scholarship, I can now complete my studies without any hindrance.

4. Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would like to extend my thanks and my gratitude to the great company that helped me and other students complete their education. Words cannot express how thankful I am to; I wish the company everlasting progress and prosperity.

Just like it is helping students realize their dreams, is also helping young entrepreneurs materialize their projects and business ideas. sponsored the first Gaza Sky Geeks entrepreneurs-in-residence program, for example.
