Benq holds 25 percent of Middle East market for flat panel monitors

Regional demand for flat panel monitors is currently recorded in excess of 5,000 units per month, up from 2,000 units in the year 2001. Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) head the list of growing demand markets for liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors, according to executives with Benq Middle East, vendor of display products, with a 25 percent market share in the Middle East.  

 

The Benq products are divided into six primary business units: display (CRT and LCD monitors), digital display (projectors and plasma display), optical storage (CD- and DVD-ROM drives, as well as CD-RW), imaging (scanners, multifunctional peripherals, and digital cameras), wireless (mobile phones, wireless module, Bluetooth PCMCIA card), and broadband (wireless LAN, Ethernet switch, XDSL, broadband router).  

 

Previously named Acer Communications and Multimedia, Benq manufactures digital display, storage, imaging, wireless, and broadband devices. Benq Middle East’s headquarter office is located in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone. Benq has manufacturing plants in China, Malaysia, Mexico, and Taiwan.
