The Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) has won an award in recognition of the Agency's “outstanding contribution to the banking industry”, from Datamix. BMA was voted best in the Financial Initiatives Linking the Region with the New World of Finance Category of the Middle East Banking Awards.
The awards, granted in 12 categories, were organized by Dubai-based Datamatix. They were presented during a special awards ceremony, which took place on the sidelines of the World Bank-International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings in Dubai.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is the leading international financial center in the Middle East, boasting the largest concentration of financial institutions in the region. With the granting of the new licenses, the number of financial institutions currently licensed by the BMA totals 354, of which 182 are banks and banking-related institutions, 159 insurance and insurance-related firms and 13 capital market brokers. — (menareport.com)
