The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) awarded six Egyptian joint small and medium sized enterprise (SME) ventures 80 million Canadian dollars ($52.3 million) as part of a new funding initiative, reported Xinhua.
CIDA launched the Small and Medium Business Support Project for Egypt in 1996. It has so far contributed CAN $12.9 million to SME’s in the North African state. The project promotes long-term job creation initiatives by providing financial support to entrepreneurs and in the Daqahliya Governorate of the Nile Delta region. — (menareport.com)
