Qatar Rail has signed an agreement with Careem Qatar to offer special discounts to metro passengers who book a taxi to travel from and to Doha Metro stations.
The agreement was signed by Qatar Rail Managing Director and CEO Abdulla Abdulaziz al Subaie and GCC Careem General Manager Khaled Nuseibeh in Doha, the rail company said in a statement on Sunday.
The agreement comes as a part of Qatar Rail's first and last mile strategy, through which the company aims to provide comprehensive solutions to complete the full transportation cycle for the metro users.
The deal also boosts metro ridership, paving the way to achieve the company's vision to be the most-favoured mode of transport in Qatar.

Subaie said,"This is the second agreement we have signed offering taxi fare promotion for metro passengers. We are confident that our partnership with Careem Qatar would positively contribute to our customer overall experience.
"Meanwhile, we will continue our efforts to facilitate integrated solutions for customers and ultimately increase the metro ridership"

Careem is considered as one of the top ride-hailing app in the MENA region, Turkey and Pakistan serving more than 24 million users in the region.
