ALBAWABA – Zeekr, a Chinese automobile company, announced this week releasing new electric car batteries, claimed to be the world’s fastest charging batteries globally. The new batteries are designed to provide long driving ranges and convenient charging.

The company stated that the new batteries can charge from 10% to 80% in just 10.5 minutes using their ultra-fast charging stations. The new batteries can achieve the same charging performance at -10°C (14°F) in about 30 minutes.

Zeekr outpaces Tesla

Zeekr claims to outpace Tesla, which Elon Musk previously stated could charge up to 200 miles in just 15 minutes using Tesla's Supercharger.

Tu Le, Founder and Managing Director of Consultancy Firm at Sino Auto Insights said: "Tesla’s charging technology is not industry-leading anymore and has not been for some time.", as reported by BBC.

Tu Le added: "These bold claims by Zeekr are believable, but more importantly even if it’s not the fastest charging EV battery, being one of the fastest is still quite a leap for them".

The new Zeekr's 2025 007 sedan car will be available next week in the markets and will be the first model to use the new world’s fastest charging batteries.

On the other hand, the company announced it will open more than 500 ultra-fast charging stations in China and plans to double that number by the end of 2024, aiming to have more than 10,000 stations by 2026.
