Cisco on Sunday announced it would bring its complete range of security solutions and knowledge the Middle East Information Technology Security Conference (MEITSEC 2004) as part of its on going commitment to raising the awareness level around security issues among customers in the region.
During the course of MEITSEC 2004 from 11th to 16th December, international and local experts from Cisco will hold a series of presentations and workshops and share relevant case studies from around the world.
“As security threats have shifted from individual networks to infrastructure, so too has Cisco’s approach to security” said Ghazi Attalah, General Manager Cisco Systems Middle East. “As organizations shift their focus to building information infrastructure that helps meet strategic objectives through business process re-engineering, and optimization, Cisco intelligent networking provides a roadmap and a foundation for a network that directly supports these new and increasingly business-driven objectives. ” he added.
Network attacks such as the “Slammer” worm spread worldwide in less than 15 minutes. Recent research bears out the benefits of addressing these issues.
Organizations that invest in network-based applications and sophisticated network infrastructure, and that align technology with business processes, achieve significant productivity enhancements within specific business functions.
In addition, executives from Cisco and its partner Synergy will hold two workshops on December 15th and 16th to share the development of the Self-Defending Network using Cisco’s Network Admission Control (NAC) as well as the Importance of IP telephony Security.
According to Ghazi Attalah General Manager Middle East “Ultimately Cisco’s approach to security is not about protecting systems per se, but protecting the productivity of the users-their ability to do their work unhindered and protecting the investment their companies made leading to a reduced Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). We encourage the delegates at MEITSEC to attend our presentations and workshops and see for themselves the benefit our security solutions can bring to their business.”
