Citibank, a member of Citigroup, has launched its new Alerting Service, bringing Citibank account and primary credit-card holders banking information straight to their mobile phone or email. The service can be customized to suit each customer’s banking needs.

This Citibank United Arab Emirates (UAE) product is part of the bank's online banking service, which has attracted 17,000 customers since launching last year. Features available include notification of salary credits, account balances, cheque deposits and withdrawals, as well as credit card statements. A message detailing the latest offers and promotions is also provided.

The Citibank Alerting Service is free for the first three months and a flat fee of five Emirati dirhams applies every month thereafter, irrespective of the number or detail of the alerts required. Customers can choose to receive notification daily, weekly, monthly, or whenever their account status alters, by mobile SMS message, email, or both. The service can be cancelled or temporarily discontinued by a visit to the Alerting Service page of Citibank UAE's website.
