Co-Op Islami stated that its “We Are All for Palestine” campaign, aimed at broadening awareness and support for the Palestinian cause, received a positive reaction among its customers, according to a company press release. Special campaign messages have been displayed on products and distribution vans over the past two months. The campaign will end at the end of July.

Employees of Co-Op Islami have reportedly donated a total of 34,000 Emirati dirhams ($9,250) from their salaries to help support the ongoing campaign to help ease the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Supermarkets selling the range of Co-Op Islami frozen food and cheese products across the region have been displaying distinctive posters in support of the campaign in addition to the labels on products that also displayed the Dubai Islamic Bank account number for collecting funds.

Co-op Islami was set up by Dubai Cooperative Society in 1981 to provide genuine halal meat products as per Islamic methods. Starting with frozen chicken, Co-op Islami expanded to provide burgers, sausages, kebabs, minced meat, etc. In 1991, the Co-op Islami plant was set up in Jebel Ali Free Zone. Co-op Islami recently opened a distribution centre in Saudi Arabia. There are plans to open more such centers in other countries in the region. — (menareport.com)
