In a release on Monday by the President of the Egyptian-Maghreb Economic Council, Yamani Foulfoula, it was indicated that bilateral trade between Egypt and Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia have risen by 50% in the first quarter of 2004.
The Council issued a report on Sunday in Cairo confirming that bilateral trade reached US$ 454 million as opposed to US$ 300 million in the previous year. Egyptian exports to Tunisia increased by 50% as opposed to a 12% increase in Egyptian-Moroccan trade and 8% between Egypt and Morocco.
