Comtrust, the e-business solutions unit of Etisalat, signed a strategic alliance with the Qatar based Information Technology (IT) integrator and solutions provider, Afkar IT. The agreement represents Comtrust's first move into an overseas market, utilizing Afkar to market and sell Comtrust's entire range of e-business infrastructure solutions throughout Qatar and the region.
The deal is designed to enable both parties to increase their portfolio of products and services to customers and extend their marketing and sales reach. Founded in 1997, Afkar provides tailored business solutions and develops e-commerce applications for organizations throughout the Gulf region. Founded in Qatar in 1997, Afkar also opened branches in Jeddah and Cairo.
Comtrust, the e-commerce business unit of Etisalat, the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, was launched in January 2000 to serve the secure e-commerce infrastructure market. — (menareport.com)
