Deals in excess of $20 million signed at Dubai Motorshow

Organizers Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) announced that deals in excess of 70 million Emirati dirhams ($20 million) were struck as the 7th Middle East International Motorshow crossed the finish line and preliminary figures came in today. 


Among the early sales figures that came in were from Daimler Chrysler, who had sold 28 Mercedes off their stand and six of their super luxury Maybach vehicles for a combined value of Dh 15 million within the first four days of the show.  


Lamborghini reported the sale of two of their top-end signature line supercars, including a limited edition model for a total value of Dh 1.5 million, while Bentley had sold one of their super elegant Arnage T line for Dh 950,000.  


The show caters to an audience comprising of trade visitors as well as consumers from the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent among others and has an established track record of pulling in the big players from the international automobile industry.  


The Motorshow this year has registered a 45 percent increase in floor space and an 83 per cent rise in the number of exhibited cars. The event features a host of manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini and Aston Martin. — (
