A cooperation protocol has been signed this week between the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (CIT) and the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, which aims at enhancing the services offered by the state-owned Delta Electricity Distribution Company.
Among the online services to be offered by Delta are information inquiries, bill payment and form submission. These services will be available to all citizens and corporations via the Internet and Delta call centers. The project is expected to streamline Delta’s workflow and its data network, which links the company headquarters to its branches.
The CIT ministry will support project’s preliminary consulting phase and finance the necessary software and the development of applications. The ministry will also monitor the project’s implementation phases.
In January 2002, the board of directors of the Delta Electricity Distribution Company approved the company’s new organizational structure, which seeks to improve services and performance through the implementation of modern management techniques. — (menareport.com)
