To meet unexpected demands from exhibitors, the organizers of Gitex Saudi Arabia have added two additional structures, providing an additional 4,000 square meters of space for exhibitors, according to a company press release. The venue hosting the event provided 10,000 square meters, but due to unexpected demand, creative options had to be incorporated to expand the space available, the release continued.

Gitex Saudi Arabia will be held at the Riyadh Exhibition Center from April 21-25, 2002. International participants in the inaugural Gitex Saudi Arabia exhibition include more than 500 companies, with official participation from the UK, Sweden, Singapore, Lebanon and Pakistan, as well as Dubai Internet City, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait.

In April 1999, the Dubai World Trade Center implemented an expansion plan for Gitex Dubai information technology exhibition held annually, launch of Gitex Cairo. This was the first in a series of moves to help broaden Gitex's presence in Middle East markets, and was followed by the launch of Termium Gitex Beirut in September 2001. In 2002, the expansion moves beyond the Middle East boarder into South Asia with the launch of Gitex Hyderabad (India). — (menareport.com)
