The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone (Tecom) have established Empower, a new joint venture project that will provide energy-efficiency services in Dubai and the region.

Created as part of the Dubai Government's efforts to enhance the infrastructure for the emirate and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Empower will primarily focus on helping real-estate developments efficiently utilize energy resources.

Empower has been launched with an initial capitalization of 500 million Emirati dirhams ($136 million). The company will initially offer district-cooling services to real estate developments. Subsequently, Empower will diversify into other related energy efficient services. — (menareport.com)
