Doha Securities Market boomed in 2005

Despite low trading sentiment witnessed at the Doha Securities Market (DSM) for quite some time, the domestic bourse boomed by over 70 per cent last year. According to the Peninsula, the market index rose by almost 4,560 points to close at 11,053 at the end of trading on Thursday, which was the last day of trading in 2005 for the bourse.

 

It should be mentioned that 2005 was the year in which the market opened to foreigners. The growth in 2004 was marginally less at some 65 per cent.
