Several residents of the Shaikha Latifa Building in Karama, Dubai have expressed dislike of the additional security deposit notice issued by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) for 270 tenants in the building that is set to be demolished. According to Khaleej Times, the rate of the additional deposit is between Dh500-1,500 in addition to the existing deposit of Dh1,000.
The Dubai Government Real Estate Department has served eviction notices to the tenants of this building last month. The 400 expatriate families living there will have to vacate before December 31.
