Recently published statistics by the Dubai Land & Properties Registration Authority indicate that the value of land exchanges in Dubai rose to 750 million Emirati dirhams ($204 million) in May 2001, up from Dh 584 million in the previous month of April.
According to Al-Bayan daily, the Authority reported that 184 lots of land, valued Dh 375 million, were exchanged in May. In addition, 156 lots ― valued Dh 342 million ― were mortgaged during the same month. There were 35 lot donations last May valued at Dh 32 million. ― (MENA Report)
