The organizing committee for Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will launch local and international TV advertisement campaigns to attract visitors to attend the one-month event, opening March 1, 2002. The campaign’s theme is ‘one world one family’. Emirati Mall managers are looking forward to the DSF, and have begun fine-tuning promotions to capitalize on the shopper traffic expected to descend on Dubai.

“DSF, one of the most important festivals in the world, has been boosting mall sales for the past six years, and it constitutes between 30 and 35 percent of the total volume of annual sales. We expect an increase of around 15 percent during DSF 2002,” said General Manager of the Hamarain Center Morhaf Kishi.

Approximately 60 percent of shoppers during DSF come from abroad, 20 percent from Northern Emirates and Abu Dhabi and another 20 percent from Dubai. Dubai's malls are very popular due to their wide variety of jewelry, gift items, perfumes, electronics and women's wear. — (menareport.com)
