Egypt will suggest operating a direct shipping line between Iraq and Egypt to transport trade merchandise, in the ninth annual Egyptian-Iraqi trade conference, Egyptian Minister of Economy Yossuf Botrous Ghali stated, reported Al-Hayat.
The objective of the conference, which opened in Baghdad on December 31, is to find ways to facilitate Egyptian-Iraqi trade, by providing Egyptian exporters a better understanding of their trading partners’ market, the minister added.
Trade between the two countries within the UN's oil-for-food program stands at some two billion dollars a year, and Egypt is currently Baghdad's third-largest trade partner after France and Russia. — (menareport.com)
