According to Jordan Investment Board (JIB) figures, Egypt currently leads in foreign investments in Jordan.Egypt is followed by the US, Britain, Taiwan and Hong Kong, which stand as the major non-Jordanian investors in the country.
Foreign investments in Jordan accounted for 55 percent of the total investments in the country during the year 2000 compared with 22 percent in 1999.
The JIB further announced that the volume of investments in projects that benefited from exemptions and incentives provided by the Investment Promotion Law, and launched in the tourism and industry sectors in the year 2000, reached 793 million Jordanian dinars ($1.1 billion) compared with JD 549 million in 1999, registering 44 percent growth. ― (MENA Report)
