Egypt trade balance deficit decreases eight percent

Egypt’s foreign trade balance deficit decreased eight percent from $5.3 billion in the end of the first half of 2000, to $4.9 billion in June-end 2001, a recently published report by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Commerce indicates, Al-Ahram reported. The report further shows that the Egyptian trade deficit decreased by 13.7 percent in the fiscal year of 2000-2001, closing at $8.979 billion, compared with the previous fiscal year. — (menareport.com)
