Egyptian exports decreased by eight percent to $2.54 billion in the first half of 2001, compared with the same period of the previous year, a recently published report by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Commerce indicates, Al-Ahram reported. Petroleum exports decreased by 13 percent in the first half of 2001, reaching $984 million, compared with the corresponding period the previous year, while non-petroleum exports dropped by three percent to $1.6 billion during the same period. — (menareport.com)
