The Egyptian Minister of Supplies and Internal Commerce, Mr. Hassan Khadher, declared that there are more than enough agricultural resources in Egypt at the present time.

Al-Hayat recently reported that the existing wheat and sugar supply is enough to feed the Egyptian population for the next 7 months. The Minister asserted that American wheat shipments continue to arrive regularly into Egypt. The available strategic wheat quantities amount to 2.2 million tons. The available strategic sugar quantities amount to 2 million tons, while the domestic monthly sugar consumption stands at 150,000 tons. — (Mena Report)
