The Information Technology (IT) Partnership Conference between Egyptian and US companies, followed by a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Ahmed Nazif, resulted in the signing of three cooperation protocols in the field of IT.
The two-day partnership conference, which convened in Egypt's recently inaugurated Bibliotheca Alexandrina, had a mission of creating business alliances between US and Egyptian IT Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and collaborating in developing business partnerships for online education and IT training programs.
“We are encouraging the proposed business partnership initiatives in e-commerce, distance learning and telemedicine for SMEs,” said Nazif, “Smart schools, IT training, e-commerce development and telemedicine, are core projects of the MCIT National Plan currently being implemented.” he added.
The conference organized by the Baltimore Sisters Cities Program, the Alexandria Business Association, US Department of Commerce and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development resulted in the conclusion of three cooperation agreements: one for the purpose of the establishment of IT training center at the Alex Business Association, another for online distance learning with the American University in Cairo and the third for providing the international consultation for the national telemedicine program. — (menareport.com)
