Electrolux Medical Systems, the Luxembourg-headquartered medical refrigeration company, is set to expand its Middle East and North African distributor network. "Though we have had a regional office in Dubai for ten years and are represented in a number of MENA countries, expansion of our network is now top priority," said Electrolux Regional Director Goran Anninger.

The company’s distribution drive will move into top gear at Arab Health 2002, the international hospital medical equipment and services show, which will be held at the Dubai World

Trade Center (DWTC), from January 26-29.

"Too few end users know about the availability of insulated containers for refrigerated preservation and transportation in high ambient temperatures," explained Anninger. "At Arab Health we hope to secure potential distributors for our WHO-approved equipment."

Electrolux Medical Systems, formerly part of Swedenís giant Electrolux Group, plans to demonstrate insulated containers, which can be used to safely transport blood and vaccines in extreme temperatures, at the show.

"The containers can be used by armed forces and emergency rescue services when they have no recourse to established facilities," said Anninger. "They can be used in cars, trucks, helicopters, ships and field hospitals and can withstand 8-10 hours without power if necessary."

The company, which has supplied blood banks, laboratory refrigerators and freezers throughout the Middle East and recently supplied the new King Abdullah Hospital in Irbid, Jordan, is among 400 exhibitors from 32 countries, which have to date contracted for Arab Health. — (menareport.com)
