ALBWABA - Devrim Özkan experienced a deeply emotional day on the set of Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever 3 after receiving the heartbreaking news that her grandmother had passed away.
The actress, who stars as Mavi in the highly anticipated film, learned of her grandmother’s death on the final day of filming. What was supposed to be a celebratory day marking the completion of production quickly became a painful moment for Özkan and those around her.
Özkan attended the film’s press conference alongside her co-star Mehmet Günsür, director İpek Sorak and producers Ömer Faruk Sorak and Roksana Diker. During the gathering, the actress struggled to hold back her tears as she dealt with the devastating loss.
The press meeting was organized to mark the end of filming and give the cast and production team an opportunity to discuss their experience working on the third installment of the popular Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever franchise.
The film is produced by Böcek Film and Benesta, with Ömer Faruk Sorak and Roksana Diker overseeing the production. İpek Sorak directed the movie, while Mehmet Günsür and Devrim Özkan lead the cast.
Özkan plays Mavi, the central female character in the new story. Günsür portrays Özgür, continuing the character he previously played in the original Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever.
The third film introduces a new love story while continuing the franchise’s focus on coincidence, fate, love and emotional connections. Mavi’s life takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Özgür, bringing the two characters together through circumstances shaped by their complicated pasts.
The project features a large ensemble cast alongside Özkan and Günsür, including Serkan Altunorak, Ümit Bülent Dinçer, Ülkü Hilal Çiftçi, Durukan Çelikkaya, Berrin Arısoy, Pınar Töre, Rüzgar Eser Düzenli, Derinsu Sorak, Deren Baştaş, Belçim Bilgin, Ayda Aksel, Hüseyin Avni Danyal, Güler Ökten, Zuhal Olcay, Uğur Polat, Bennu Yıldırımlar and Emin Gürsoy.
Filming began in July and eventually concluded in Ankara. With production officially wrapped, the film is now moving toward its theatrical release.
Following the loss, Özkan also took to Instagram to thank those who sent messages of condolence. She shared an emotional message on her Instagram Story, describing her grandmother as a very precious person and expressing her wishes for her loved ones to have long, beautiful and healthy lives.
“Thank you so much for your condolences. My grandmother was a very precious person. May God grant all our loved ones long, beautiful, and healthy lives. May she rest in peace, my angel. 🤍” Özkan wrote.
Her heartfelt message offered a personal glimpse into her grief after the loss. She had already appeared visibly emotional at the film’s press conference, where she struggled to hold back tears while facing the difficult news on what should have been a celebratory final day on set.
For Özkan, the completion of Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever 3 therefore became a particularly painful milestone. While the cast and crew marked the end of filming, the actress was simultaneously mourning the loss of someone she described as a deeply precious part of her life.
