The French Niskan Company has begun the construction of a $100 million electronic circuit-manufacturing factory in Egypt, Al-Bayan reported. The Egyptian Minister of Information and Telecommunication Ahmed Nadheef stated that the new factory will be located in the October 6th City and will be entitled to the incentives awarded to enterprises in the local free zones.

The value of the plant’s output is expected to reach $400 million by the end of 2004. The government allocated a 40,000-meter area for the construction of the factory and is training the future employees. The minister also said that there is a shortage of factories specializing in designing and manufacturing electronic circuits in Egypt. — (menareport.com)
