The Emirates Group has chosen Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) Lifebook S series notebooks to standardize its laptop fleet as part of an upgrade of the group's mobile IT operations.
Mercator, the Emirates Group's information technology (IT) division, took the decision after a detailed and comprehensive overview of several leading notebook brands in the market. The Emirates Group, which includes Emirates Airline, Dnata and a number of other divisions, is expected to replace all AST laptops and Compaq Armada 1592 models with the new FSC notebooks during the current year.
The sales staff of the Emirates Group will be the first beneficiaries of the mass upgrade and will get to use the new notebooks at their 2002 Global Sales Conference. All existing laptops over three years old are to be replaced by the new Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook S series notebooks under a new deal signed between the leading airline and FSC.
The Lifebook S series notebooks are powered by the Intel mobile Pentium III 800 MHz processor-M with enhanced SpeedStep technology offering 19 percent more display area. A sensitive Touchpad, Quick Touch application buttons and numerous applications provide user-friendliness. — (menareport.com)
