Emirates Preinstalled Pipes Industries (EPPI) has announced its plans for expansion at its Abu Dhabi headquarters. The move will increase capacity and will help the company increase its product portfolio to fall in line with diversifying operations to focus on other areas beyond the district cooling industry. The move is also expected to increase its workforce by 25 percent.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr.Ghassan Sahli, General Manager, EPPI, said: “EPPI has achieved a remarkable success in 2004. This year’s turnover has increased by 35%, and our profit has increased by 50%. We are looking at the expansion as a viable way to achieve growth and new focus as we start to diversify our operations. I am extremely excited by the new development.”
Spanning some 32,000 m 2, the existing plant will increase to 48,000 m 2. This will help increase productivity by more than 50% and meet the demand for high quality piping, which continues to glow as the construction industry continues to blaze a trail!
“Our success runs in tandem with that of the construction industry and the significant growth in the demand of district cooling services. While we are keen to capitalize on this future growth, we are eager to expand our portfolio with new industries and capitalize on the reputation that EPPI enjoys today,” Sahli continued.
In early 2005, EPPI is expected to announce new deal signings. These include a major new contract for the oil service industry as well as a deal with a leading US company for producing a new product under license to supply the piping industry.
Since the company started operations in 2002, EPPI has supplied more than 300 kms of piping for projects and today has grown to be the market leader across the UAE.
“Our products are being used on projects for a variety of companies, each of whom demands high quality insulated piping for their projects. We have been able to distinguish ourselves in this area and support our product reputation by providing our customers with technical and field support,” Mr Sahli concluded.
