Emirates Racing Association (ERA) has signed a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to outsource all infrastructure maintenance and support with Dubai Technology Partners - Consulting Division (DTP Consulting).

The SLA will provide support for Microsoft Office suite, technical and proactive support for ERA's desktop, servers and network and fault reporting for all problems encountered. The agreement will cover ERA's entire technology infrastructure, which includes 59 networked-PCs, plus 20 stand-alone and four servers.

Since DTP took on the project, ERA has witnessed an increase in uptime from 68 percent to 99 percent, according to a company press release, and help-desk response time decreased from three days to 45 minutes. ERA has also saved 20 percent in terms of technology procurement.

“After studying the feasibility of running our own internal Information Technology (IT) division versus outsourcing, we can up with the simple conclusion that outsourcing is more efficient and effective for us,” said Terry Spargo, Emirates Racing Association's IT coordinator. DTP Consulting provides a combination of IT consultancy, turnkey solutions, software auditing, information security and project management services. — (menareport.com)
